God’s covenant walk
Choose to walk in covenant with God!
It is God’s desire to personally take a covenant walk with every single child of His so that He may cut a covenant with them!
We read in the Bible that God walked with Noah.
Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time. Noah walked with God. [Gen 6:9 WEB]
During this covenant walk with Noah, God made a covenant with him.
Then God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I am making between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you for all future generations. My rainbow do I place in the cloud, and it will be a sign of the covenant between Me and the land. Whenever I bring clouds over the land and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember My covenant that is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all flesh. [Gen 9:12-15 TLV]
God also took a covenant walk with Abraham.
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, Yahweh appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty. Walk before me, and be blameless. I will make my covenant between me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” [Gen 17:1-2 WEB]
Just as God did with Noah, he also made a covenant with Abraham as part of their covenant walk.
On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your offspring I give this land.[Gen 15:18 ESV]
The Bible even shows us that God also walked with the nation of Israel.
In all places in which I have walked with all the children of Israel, did I say a word to any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people Israel, saying, ‘Why have you not built me a house of cedar?’ [2Sa 7:7 WEB]
Through his servant Moses, God also made a covenant with them.
And Moses took the blood and threw it on the people and said, “Behold the blood of the covenant that the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words.” [Exo 24:8 ESV]
And he said, “Behold, I am making a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been created in all the earth or in any nation. And all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the LORD, for it is an awesome thing that I will do with you. [Exo 34:10 ESV]
In the New Testament, God desires to walk with all believers.
He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, “All of you drink it, for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.” [Mat 26:27-28 WEB]
Note that a covenant is not just an event. It is a process. Without a covenant walk, there will be no covenant!
A covenant walk always includes certain very specific steps. Once you learn to identify the steps, you will be able to recognize the process from start to finish. And then you will start to see this same wonderful process unfolding in the lives of many other Bible characters as well.
You will see that God took covenant walks not only with Noah, Abraham, and Moses but also with many others, such as Isaac, Jacob, Gideon, Elijah, Elisha, Samuel, David, Esther, and Ruth.
And this is only the beginning. God follows the same process with all His saints. You can take the life of any faith hero in history, ancient or modern, and test it according to God’s blueprint for our lives. As long as you have enough information regarding this person’s life, you will be able to find that it matches God’s divine blueprint for our lives.
So, where do we find God’s blueprint for our lives? You might not be surprised that this covenant walk process is revealed in the pattern that God gave Moses regarding the structure of the tabernacle.
God earnestly desires to walk with you.
You have His promises that He will never leave you, not even for one moment!
He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down ( relax My hold on you)! [ Assuredly not!] So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me? (Heb 13:5-6 Amplified Bible)
He will always walk with every one of his children. That is a given. But much more than this, His co-walk with His children is, in fact, a covenant walk.
When God gave the plans for the tabernacle to Moses, He made very sure that Moses followed the divine pattern to the letter.
Make the tent and all its furnishings exactly like the plans I am showing you. [Exo 25:9 GW]
“In the desert our ancestors had the tent of God’s promise. Moses built this tent exactly as God had told him. He used the model he had seen.” [Act 7:44 GW]
This site has many pages dedicated to demonstrating both the layout of the tabernacle and God’s divine blueprint for our lives. May God bless you as you study His word.
